The New York Auto Show seems to be the latest venue to debut the flood of new vehicles for the new model year. The Lexus RX Crossover is one of those many vehicles that is expected to make its inaugural appearance on the red carpet. The RX has had ample success in the SUV luxury lineup, and the crossover version is not expect to divert from this boom. Although specifications and features are not fully available to the general public, as Lexus has been hush hush on the details, there are some that have leaked out.
Most of the changes to the RX Crossover are expected to be cosmetic for the 2016 model year. Fairfax Lexus says that these changes include exterior styling, like the spindle grille, and more angular LED headlamps. Optional third row seating is expected to be available for the new model year and MSRP will likely mirror the current starting price which is around $42,000.
Additional exterior changes include more pronounced rear fender flares, discernibly pleated lines along the flanks, and bold tapering of the hatchback. Powertrains that you can anticipate to see for the RX crossover include the 3.5L V6 and 3.5L hybrid. You may see an increased fuel economy and possible upswing of the current horsepower. Interior upgrades are to be expected as well.
The frame of the new Lexus RX Crossover is expected to include new innovations in aluminum technology, which will give the SUV a lighter weight and increased fuel economy. The 2016 RX Crossover is expected to be extremely safe and cater to families with the increased size of the vehicle. Though much of the changes to the RX are speculation, we will have to wait and see what will really be on the best selling crossover until April 2nd, 2015 at the New York Auto Show.
