Muscle cars going electric? Say it isn’t so! Sad as it might sound, the 2025 Dodge Daytona is the first electrified muscle car, but there is a silver lining.

Dodge is certainly taking a chance by ditching the monstrous V8 power plants of the Charger and Challenger in favor of new electric powertrains. The new Daytona EV brings the end for most American muscle cars. GM ended production of the Camaro, and the Ford Mustang continues onward as a muscle car and an electric SUV. The new Dodge models are the company’s entrance into the EV world, giving us a new direction for the brand.

Here are some things you’ll want to know about the new 2025 Dodge Charger Daytona.

Faster than before

These new electric versions of the Charger are more powerful than their gas predecessors. The new Daytona R/T should hit 60 mph in 4.7 seconds, while the Scat Pack can hit this same mark in only 3.3 seconds. The quarter-mile times are also impressive, with the R/T finishing in 13.1 seconds and the Scat Pack doing the same in 11.5 seconds.
Unfortunately, Dodge is limiting the top speed to 137 mph for the R/T and 134 mph for the Scat Pack. Every Dodge Charger Daytona receives the Track Package Brembo brakes which give them massive 16.1-inch rotors all around.

The style is pure Dodge

The new 2025 Dodge Charger Daytona brings style that harkens back to the 1960s and the original Dodge cars bearing the same name. Prior to focusing on EVs, the Charger and Challenger models wore heritage styling that made them unmistakable on any road. This new EV certainly carries this style forward, giving you the look and feel desired when you want to enjoy a car that looks strong and fun right from the start. There’s no denying the muscle car roots of this version of the Charger.

Give the Charger Daytona a Power Shot

There has to be a way to boost power in this incredible new Dodge muscle car, and it’s called Power Shot. The Power Shot feature gives the Daytona a 40-horsepower boost for up to 15 seconds. You have to wait 30 seconds between uses, but this feature can be used multiple times until the batteries run out of driving range.

The new 2025 Dodge Charger Daytona comes with a 93.9-kWh battery pack, which gives the R/T models 317 miles of driving range, and the Scat Pack versions have 260 miles of driving range.

No silent driving in this Dodge EV

One o the most important and enticing aspects of this new electric muscle car is the addition of the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust System which generates artificial exhaust noise to make this car sound and feel great on any road. The noise level is claimed to be around 126-decibels, which is the same as the Dodge Hellcat models which are loud and proud. The exhaust sound system has a distinct “Dark Matter” sound profile that makes a special sound for this amazing EV when you’re out on the road.

What does this Dodge provide?

Every Charger with Daytona in the name is now an electric vehicle. This Charger uses the modular STLA Large platform, but it features a 400-volt electrical architecture. Plans are in place to upgrade to an 800-volt system in the SRT Banshee model that should arrive late in 2025.

The R/T and Scat Pack trim levels will continue to be part of the new electric models of this Charger. The R/T versions should have 496 horsepower and 404 lb-ft of torque, while the Scat Pack models should produce 670 horsepower and 627 lb-t o torque. These figures are for the 2024 models which come with the Direct Connection Stage 1 and 2 packages that add extra power. In 2025, this package will be optional and not included.

Dodge didn’t completely ditch gas-powered Chargers. A new version will use the Stellantis Hurricane engine and arrive next year. The brand won’t use V8 engines any longer in any vehicle, but there won’t be a shortage of power with the Hurricane engine under the hood.

Various power levels make the Charger more fun

Like the previous models of the Charger and Challenger, this new electric model will have several power choices, depending on your desires. The Charger will come in three trim levels: 340, 440, and Banshee. This car should come with some over-the-air updates that allow drivers to increase the power from the base setup to give you the extra juice you want to enjoy when you take this amazing EV to the track.
