Chevrolet Highlights the Greatness of Detroit

Chevrolet vehicles and the city of Detroit are both icons of American skill, work ethic, and ingenuity. For many years, Chevrolet cars, trucks, and SUVs have proudly represented the greatness of Detroit.
Detroit is a great town for both the automotive industry and the history offered, but also for the sports teams that call this city their home. When these two industries marry up, what you can see is pure joy and certainly something special that can be a lot of fun to see and enjoy. For the opening day of the baseball season for the Detroit Tigers, Chevrolet sent two of its top models to Comerica Park to be featured under the massive Tiger statue out front, giving us a look at the sports and automotive industry of Detroit together in one place.

The two models that were showcased for this opening day of the season for our national pastime in the Motor City were the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse High Country and Colorado ZR2. This means those in attendance at the park could take a look at the most versatile family hauler from Chevrolet along with a truck that’s been dubbed the ultimate rock crawler which were both showcased. This is the perfect place to showcase these two vehicles at a fountain that offers a variety of water displays and the sounds of a tiger growling after all Detroit home runs.

These Two Chevrolet Models are Weather Tested

The two display vehicles offered for opening day are a pair of the most capable that Chevrolet has to offer, but surprisingly, there wasn’t anything special done to them that made them stand out. The Chevrolet team ensures over 200 hours of Climatic Wind Tunnel testing is completed for every vehicle that’s offered on the market and with the colder start to the Detroit baseball season it’s certainly a good thing. With these two vehicles atop this fountain it’s easy to see how much fun and how active these models can be.

The extreme weather testing that’s done in the tunnel for each Chevrolet model includes testing the range of temperatures from minus 40-degrees up to 130-degrees, ten to ninety percent humidity levels, elevation conditions from minus 700 to 12,500 feet, and wind speed testing from zero to 100 mph. These are certainly rigorous testing conditions that can give you the confidence you need when you’re ready to take a drive in a Chevrolet vehicle. Now that you know this is the extreme testing performed, you might want to figure out which Chevrolet model will be the right one for you to drive. Chevrolet and Play Ball in the Detroit Institute of Arts

Chevrolet is not only a sponsor of the fountain at Comerica Park, they also work with the Play Ball initiative to help bring baseball to a variety of youth programs. They are also sponsoring the MLB exhibit at the Detroit Institute of Arts to showcase the collection of rare baseball cards, memorabilia, and collectibles that are present at the museum.
