If you’re an off-road adventure seeker and like the Chevy Colorado ZR2, tackling rough terrain is even better in the ZR2 Bison. This version of the Colorado adds even more off-road-focused parts. Want to up your adventure game? Head to a Chevy dealer and check out the Chevy ZR2 Bison.
What Makes the Bison Better?
The regular Colorado ZR2 sits at the top of the Colorado lineup with all kinds of off-road equipment. You’ll get rocker panel rails, fender flares, mud-terrain tires, and Multimatic
DSSV dampers. All these features make taking on rough terrain a breeze, but for the Colorado, it doesn’t stop with the ZR2.
The Bison edition adds wider fender flares to accommodate the massive 35-inch all-terrain tires. Chevy’s partnership with AEV means it gets dressed up in AEV wheels, bumpers, and AEV badging. Boron steel skid plates protect all the important underside components. But the Bison is more than just a pretty face, it increases ground clearance to 12.2 inches and the wheels are shifted outward giving it a wider track.
What? Even More Upgrades?
The regular Colorado ZR2 comes outfitted with Multimatic DSSV dampers, but the Bison takes things further. It has exclusive hydraulic jounce bumpers on all four corners. These also come from Multimatic and are designed to absorb more of the impact and send less back through the wheel.
Let’s Talk About Power
We’ve talked a lot about what kind of equipment the Bison has, but how much power does it have? No matter what 2024 Colorado you see sitting on a Chevy dealer lot, it will have the same powertrain, but the output depends on the model.
The 2.4-liter turbo four-cylinder delivers 237 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque for the lower-end Colorado models, but if you’re looking at the ZR2 Bison, it will have the high output version under the hood. The TurboMax generates 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque.
What Do You Get Inside?
Even if you drive an off-road beast, you’ll still spend some time on the road, so how comfortable is the Colorado ZR2 Bison? Well, it comes with all the comforts of home. The power-adjustable driver’s seat makes it easy to find the perfect driving position, and heated front seats will keep you warm if you’re adventuring during the winter months.
You can also get your Colorado with ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and leather upholstery.
Get Some Extras, too
While your ZR2 Bison will come with everything you need to make even the roughest terrain look easy, things can happen when you’re driving over uncharted territory. This is where the Recovery Package comes in. It gives you a come-up winch and off-road recovery kit, so you can get help out of a tricky situation if you need it or help someone else out.
