Looking to update your ride and want an SUV? The Hyundai small SUV lineup has several options for drivers who prefer something on the smaller side. From the compact Kona to the family-friendly Santa Fe, there is something that will fit.
The Venue: Hyundai’s Smallest SUV
The Venue may be the smallest vehicle on the new car lot at a Hyundai dealership, but it has a solid list of features and a surprisingly spacious interior. The 2025 Venue is perfect for daily driving. Even the entry-level trim has air conditioning, remote keyless entry, and a full suite of advanced driver aids. The top-level Limited gets you heated front seats and wireless charging, too.
The Kona: Do You Want to Go Electric?
Step into the future with the small Hyundai Kona. This little SUV offers a choice of gas engines, or you can get the Kona Electric with one or two electric motors. One place the Kona really shines is with its tech features. It comes with a massive 12.3-inch touchscreen, four USB ports, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Step up the trim ladder, and you’ll also get wireless charging and Hyundai’s digital key, which allows you to use your smartphone as a key.
Just as with the other small Hyundai SUVs, the Kona comes fully equipped with a long list of advanced driver aids to keep you safe on the road. Systems such as a driver attention warning system, forward collision warning, automatic braking, and lane-departure mitigation all come standard.
The Hyundai Tucson: Enjoy Your Commute Again
If you’re considering Hyundai small SUVs, next in the lineup is the Tucson. The 2025 has some significant updates with changes inside and out, but the more pronounced changes happen in the cabin. A 12.3-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system now stretches across the dash and is accompanied by another 12.3-inch driver information display. There’s also a head-up display for your convenience. You and your passengers will appreciate the fast-charging USB-C ports and the available wireless charging.
Another fun update for the Tucson is the fingerprint scanning system. You can use your fingerprint to turn on the engine instead of your phone or the key.
The Hyundai Santa Cruz: An SUV or a Pickup?
We’ll include the Santa Cruz in this list because it’s a cross between an SUV and a pickup truck, it’s based on the Tucson but has a bed instead of an enclosed cargo area. The 2025 Santa Cruz also received the updated dashboard. Just like the Tuscon, it has more physical controls, but it also offers a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen. Unlike the Tucson, you have to opt for the larger screen, though.
The Santa Cruz is not your typical SUV or truck, though. It has a smaller bed, but it’s extremely functional because of the rail-track system, in-bed lighting, and lockable storage. If you want to tow with your Santa Cruiz, it can pull up to 5,000 pounds.
