Often the two trucks from GM, the GMC Sierra, and the Chevrolet Silverado are looked at as the same truck with different badging offered.
The fact is, these are two different trucks and several of the differences between them can help you understand the separation between the two that allows you to choose the one that will offer you what you’re looking for in a truck.
Here are some of the differences:
Styling
Just look up front at the two different truck and you’ll see some unique and signature items that certainly let you see the two aren’t the same at all. The Sierra has a set of character lines that are different from the Silverado while the head and taillights of both trucks are different from the other.
Interiors
When you open the doors and look inside at what the two trucks look like and offer for comfort, the Sierra is a bit of an upgrade over the Silverado that’s designed to have the look you admire as well. These two trucks are both extremely comfortable, but if you want a truck that feels closer to the luxury ride, you’ll want to take the GMC Sierra.
Technology
If you look at the items offered in either of the two trucks, you’ll notice the Sierra is offered with more tech than the Silverado. The GMC Sierra can be had with the Rear Camera Mirror and a multicolor head-up display that makes the option list. Both of these items are a first for the truck segment and certainly give you what you’re looking for.
Trailering
The Sierra is the truck GM chose to use to debut the new ProGrade Trailering System which makes it easy to get the trailer where you need it to go and to attach the hitch to your truck without trouble. This item is offered in Sierra but not on the Silverado and its standard on the SLT and Denali models for the trailering ability you want to enjoy.
Adaptive Dampers
One feature that’s offered in the Sierra that you won’t find on the list for the Silverado is the Adaptive Ride Control system. This system comes with adjustable dampers to smooth out the road conditions when you travel and makes this truck even more luxurious when you take a drive. This is a feature offered in the GMC but not the Chevy model.
Carbon Fiber Bed
Another first in the truck segment offered by the GMC Sierra is the new CarbonPro truck bed. This allows there to be a tough and rugged truck bed while saving 62 pounds of weight compared to a typical steel box. This bed also makes it possible to avoid dents, scratches, and corrosion.
MultiPro Tailgate
The GMC Sierra is offered with a tailgate that has a smaller section that can fold down to make it easy to get items out when you don’t need to put the entire gate down. This is an excellent feature for your convenience.
