Dodge Gives Us the Last Call Editions; But There’s a Hiccup

To celebrate the end of the gas-powered Challenger and Charger models, Dodge came up with the Last Call Edition models. Unfortunately, there’s a bit of an issue.

The Last Call Editions of these two classic muscle cars is a series of seven names set to give us something special before these cars go off into the sunset. This is not only a great way to celebrate the end of gasoline power for the Charger and Challenger but the finish to the Mopar muscle cars. These amazing cars have historical significance that might not be seen again.

The seven Last Call Models in order are:

• Challenger R/T Scat Pack Shakedown
• Charger Super Bee
• Challenger R/T Scat Pack Swinger
• Charger R/T Scat Pack Swinger
• Charger King Daytona
• Challenger Black Ghost
• The Last Dodge Challenger

The First of These Special Models Carries a Classic Name

Starting with the Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack Shakedown, we see the last few of the Dodge muscle cars offered. This version of the Challenger brings the Shaker and offers red and black stripes to make it one of the most incredible muscle cars. This car is based on the Scat Pack model of the Challenger, giving it lots of natural grunt and a cool style. Only 1,000 of these Dodge cars will be produced, offering this version in both the standard and Widebody builds to give consumers the desired look of this muscle car.

What Does the Charger Super Bee Bring?

One of the most interesting Dodge Last Call muscle cars is the Charger Super Bee. This name has been part of Dodge in the past, giving us another iconic name brought back for this final run. This Charger brings drag-strip capabilities that can make this car a lot of fun when you’re challenged to a short quarter-mile run. This amazing car isn’t only being offered with performance upgrades; it has some cool paint colors, including B5 Blue and Plum Crazy. Dodge is producing 1,000 of these Chargers in both the standard and Widebody builds.

The Swinger Name Comes from a Different Dodge

The Challenger R/T Scat Pack Swinger has received more than a few snickers about the name, but this name has historical significance for Dodge. The name comes from the original 1969 Dodge Dart, which was a great car for many years. The Swinger has the build that we’re sure to love and a classic F8 Green Paint with a classic Dodge stripe and the name written in script on the tail of the car. If you don’t like F8 Green, this car comes in Sublime Green and White Knuckle as well. There will be 1,000 versions of this Challenger built to give us a classic car to admire and enjoy.

Is the Charger Swinger Different?

The Swinger version o the Charger is the same as the Challenger. This is the only one of the Dodge Last Call models that is the same for both cars. This gives us either a Charger or Challenger with the incredible 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine that produces 485 horsepower and three color options. Both Swinger models are only offered as Widebody versions, which is a bit of a difference from the Shakedown and Super Bee versions which also offer regular body styles.

The King Daytona Charger is the Most Powerful Charger Ever

A fitting sendoff for the very last of the Dodge Charger cars to roll off the assembly line is to make it the most powerful model ever made. This version of the Charger comes with the 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi Hellcat V8 engine, which is tuned to 807 horsepower. The paint for this gorgeous muscle car is Go Mango, and it features some black graphics.

This special model of the Charger is made using the Redeye’s Widebody kit, making it one of the most aggressive Chargers to ever hit the road. Only 300 miles of the King Daytona will be made, making it one of the rarest Dodge Charger cars ever made.

The Dodge Challenger Black Ghost Pays Homage

The Black Ghost name is certainly fitting among the Hellcat and Demon family, offering a bit of a sinister and spooky feeling to the family. This car is made with a name and style that resembles a car from Detroit police officer Godfrey Qualls who used to drag race his modified 1970 Challenger R/T on Woodward Avenue. The Black Ghost was known to show up and disappear just as fast.

This new model of the Challenger brings the 807-horsepower Hellcat V8 to the mix, and it’s covered in Pitch Black pint with a gator-skin roof. This car will also only be offered in 300 variations.

The Final Last Call Dodge Has Some Problems

The Last Challenger ran into some problems. This final version of the Last Call series was supposed to be revealed at the SEMA show, and it’s been tested for several weeks leading up to the show. Unfortunately, this final car has run into some delays because the engines of this final model keep blowing up during testing.

This version of the Challenger is rumored to produce 897 horsepower, which would make this the most powerful Dodge muscle car ever produced. Unfortunately, something has gone wrong, and the release of this Challenger has been delayed. If any team can figure out how to fix this problem and bring nearly 900 horsepower to the masses, it is the Dodge team.

A New Plan for this Challenger

Although Dodge missed the SEMA show for The Last Challenger, there’s already a new plan in place for this car. As long as they don’t blow up any more engines, the plan is to release this Challenger before the end of 2022. Once it is released, we’ll have the details of this last model of the Challenger.
