Hyundai Nexo

We recently discussed the fact that Hyundai was heading to the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, NV with a new subcompact crossover SUV that has a variety of new technology items that will be shown off.
At the time of the original discussion, the vehicle didn’t have a name, which sounds a lot like heading to the hospital to deliver a baby without a name prepared for the child you’re about to have. Even so, the brand that brings us the Sonata, Santa Fe, and Elantra has finally given this little SUV a name and took the wraps off it.
The new model that is about to be a dedicated Fuel Cell EV that will serve as the technological flagship for the brand and the plan to accelerate the development of the low emissions models from this brand is being called NEXO. This will be the first of 18 new eco-friendly models that will be part of what Hyundai will bring to the market and it will arrive with three advanced technology features that will be found in the NEXO which are a blind spot view monitor, lane following assist, and highway driving assist, along with remote smart parking assist.

What the Hyundai NEXO has to offer

The blind spot view monitor is being claimed by Hyundai as an industry first technology that shows a driver a center cluster screen with views of the rear and side of the SUV by using cameras while changing lanes in either direction. This system will make use of wide-angle surround view monitors on each side of the vehicle to monitor areas that normally can’t be seen by a traditional rearview mirror to give us more of what we need to see and help keep us safer on the road.

For the Hyundai NEXO, the lane following assist will automatically adjust the steering to help keep the crossover centered in the lane you’re driving down. This technology is going to be able to make this possible at speeds up to 90 mph on both highway and city streets. With this system you’ll have the ability to drive longer without the need to focus on the road as much, making it easier for you to drive without the fatigue that you might experience when it is time for the drive you’re going to want to have when it’s time to be out on the road.
Maybe the most impressive item added to give us more technology and items we want in this new Hyundai NEXO is the remote smart parking assist. This will allow you to autonomously park the vehicle and move it out of the parking space to get ready to ride on the road. This system will be an advancement in the tech that might begin to save space in parking lots if every vehicle becomes equipped with it in the future. Take a look at what the Hyundai NEXO shows up with when you want to see what the new Hyundai SUV will be that will be in the lineup with the Tucson, Santa Fe, and Elantra for the drive you want to enjoy on the road.
