The Tuning Begin in this Ford

We’ve seen the 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine in more than just the Mustang. In the Focus RS, this engine made 350 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft.of torque for the drive. This engine uses a cylinder head that’s made of a different aluminum alloy and a unique head gasket to improve the sealing to handle the added pressure. More changes were made to give you more performance in the Mustang, but the power level comes in at 332 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque. This is an increase in power over the standard model, with the idea of the High-Performance model to focus on performance and not joust raw power.

Making the Drive More Fun

The new Ford Mustang High-Performance model gives you a redline that takes you to 6,500 rpm, which is more than the previous version which topped out at 5,000 rpm. You’ll have the benefits of a sporty sound with the driver-adjustable exhaust system which is standard for the High-Performance model. The sounds you want to hear come to you through the set of quad exhaust tips that you’re sure to enjoy.

The Added Mustang Power Must be Controlled

The ability to keep the power offered in the new High-Performance version of the Mustang EcoBoost under control is found with the addition of larger brakes. The front brake rotors are 13.9-inches in size which are squeezed by four-piston calipers. Open the hood and you can see a new alloy strut-tower brace that improves the handling of this car. There’s a 32-mm diameter stabilizer bar to keep the front planted and while a 21.7-mm bar helps to keep the rear in place where you need it to be when you take a drive.

Visual Differences You’ll See

The regular Mustang EcoBoost and the High-Performance model are visually separated by a few items. The new model has a blacked-out grille with the pony emblem. The front fenders offer special badges that look like something you’ve seen before, and the mirrors and hood stripes are bathed in Magnetic Gray to give you a different look and style you’re sure to admire. The hood stripes appear to come from the mirrors to the front of the car and the pony emblem is set off toward the extreme driver’s side of the vehicle in the front grill.

Availability of the High-Performance Package

You can find the High-Performance Package on any version of the Ford Mustang with the EcoBoost engine under the hood. This means you can have it on the coupe or convertible models, you could choose a six-speed manual or ten-speed automatic transmission and enjoy the benefits of this package. There are some items you can choose to upgrade this package so that you can have more of the performance items you want when it’s time to take a drive. These items range from different brake pads, a limited-slip differential, special tires and wheels, and a larger diameter rear sway bar.
