What are the least reliable car brands in the automotive market? This list might surprise you with some of the names you see every day.
A brand on this list doesn’t mean the vehicles are leaving you on the side of the road. Instead, most of the reasons these brands are on the list have to do with some of the electronics included in the models offered. Even so, you may want to avoid these brands when you’re looking for a new vehicle.
Chevrolet Makes the Tenth Spot on the Wrong List
The Chevrolet brand has moved from deep in this list to almost be off of it, but it still finds its way to the tenth spot. As one of the least reliable brands, you can find some great vehicles to drive that wear the bowtie badge, but some that you will want to avoid.
Volvo Might Surprise You as One of the Least Reliable Car Brands
Even though Volvo stands on a reputation for amazing advanced safety features in every model, this brand is in the ninth spot on this list. This brand does keep us admiring the station wagons offered, but it might not be the luxury brand you want to choose when you’re looking for your next ride. Consider searching elsewhere for your driving pleasure.
Jeep Is in the Eighth Spot
Finding FCA names in the least reliable car brands list isn’t a surprise at all. The Jeep brand is on this list with a few models that aren’t as good as we want them to be and others that seem to do everything we need. If you’re considering the Wrangler or Gladiator, you’ll be fine, but if you want to drive the Renegade, you might want to look for another subcompact SUV to drive.
Seventh in the Least Reliable Car Brands List is Occupied by Mercedes-Benz
How can it be that one of the most luxurious brand names in the automotive market is in the top ten when it comes to negative reliability scores? The Mercedes-Benz name has been on this list a few times and it might be the brand you want to buy. Instead of overpaying for a vehicle from this brand, look to another luxury name and enjoy the drive.
Cadillac has Improved But is Still on the List
A year ago, the Cadillac brand was the top brand on this list, making it the least reliable you could find. Now, it’s in the sixth spot, which is an improvement. Some of the new offerings are pulling the scores down, but if you want to choose a luxury vehicle to drive, you might want to avoid the Cadillac name.
Ford is One of the Least Reliable Car Brands
The brand that has the best-selling vehicle in the market, the Ford F-150, doesn’t seem like it should be on the mix when it comes to poor reliability scores. New models are coming from this brand that will hopefully create better scores for the Ford brand, but for now, you might not want to drive the Ford you’ve been looking at.
MINI is in the Fourth Spot
There’s really no surprise at all to see the MINI brand on the list of poor scores when it comes to reliability. This brand was in a better position on this list a year ago and now it’s in the fourth spot. While you can have an impressive style, fun driving personality, and uniqueness of a MINI vehicle, you might find it troublesome and want to drive something else.
And the Bronze Medal Goes to Volkswagen
Germany may consider Volkswagen to be the “People’s Car Brand” but this is one of the least reliable car brands you’ll find. If you’re looking at the Jetta or Atlas, you might want to look elsewhere for a similar vehicle. On the other hand, if you want to have the Golf, you’ll be pleased with what you have and know that you’re selecting a vehicle that does come with good reliability scores.
Tesla is in the Second Spot, Which Isn’t Surprising
Tesla continues to limp along when it comes to reliability. You can say they’ve rushed vehicles to the market or tried to make them so complicated they don’t even understand them. When it comes to this EV company, there are people on both sides of whether or not to buy them. The fact remains, Tesla is the second least reliable brand you can buy right now.
And the Winner (Not Really) is Lincoln
Smooth comfortable driving in a Lincoln can quickly turn into a frustrating experience with this brand. This brand dropped eleven spots to be the least reliable car brand you can find anywhere. If you’re looking for a vehicle to drive and you think you might want a Lincoln, try looking at another brand that won’t give you as much trouble or have you in the shop as regularly.
