Lego Creators Amaze Us with a Chevy

The Lego movies have taken on a life and a successfulness of their own. While the toy building block company may have never thought of making movies when it was first founded, the brick toy following and excitement surrounding different Lego movies have been amazing. Whether it was the first Lego Movie, the Lego Batman Movie, or the new Lego Movie 2 that’s about to be shown, most of the movies we see today are often revealed with special events and items. This is especially true when the movie is geared toward families and children.

Lego shows up in Detroit

The Detroit Auto Show recently took place and at this event, there were a number of new and impressive vehicles that gave us a look at what they would offer for our future of driving on the road. What we might not have expected to see was a full-size 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT Trail Boss which was completely constructed from Lego bricks. Amazingly, this replica of the truck was built to be the same size and dimensions as the truck itself and served both as a follow up to the Lego Batman Batmobile that arrived in Detroit last year while also being a way to feature the new franchise Movie that will be in theaters soon.

A Humble Beginnings

While the Lego brand began humbly enough with simple packages of building blocks for children to create a building or vehicle from the contents of a package, this company has transformed their products over time. Today, you can find entire aisles of Lego kits at the different stores where toys are sold. These kits allow you to build everything you can think of from the vehicles and scenes from the Star Wars franchise to the Indiana Jones movies and more.
The Chevy Truck

In order to build the Chevrolet Silverado from Legos, it took 18 people nearly 2,000 hours to assemble the truck. The completed vehicle is comprised of 334,544 pieces to make the body, lights, wheels, and tires to give us a truck that looks extremely similar to the actual vehicle. The lights of the Lego truck are function and give this model a great appearance. Compared to each other, the toy version of the truck weighs in at 3,307 pounds while the actual truck tips the scales at 5,008 pounds.

The Creativity of the Past

This new truck and the Batmobile aren’t the only two models the Lego Company has created for different events in the past. They have created a Ferrari F1 car, a Bugatti Chiron that could actually be driven, and a Toyota Camry that used more than 500,000 pieces to create. It’s a mystery what the team will create and offer us when they show up at the next event with their next vehicle, but this new creation of the Silverado is certainly an impressive creating with every part of the model being made from Legos.
