Why didn’t Mazda want to increase the power for several years? This little car was one of the first to offer a fun personality with dynamic steering and suspension qualities, a lightweight build, the perfect proportions for the fun you want, and the price that made it an affordable and fun model to take for a ride. The rest of the automotive market has caught up with this and the Miata needs to add more zoom to the equation to keep its edge. How is the Mazda MX-5 Miata Upgraded for Fun?

This fun and active roadster has been slightly re-engineered for this new model year to give you an upgraded level of power in the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. This engine now has different valve springs, lighter pistons, connecting rods, and a larger throttle body, to help raise the redline for this car from 6,800 rpm to 7,500 rpm for the 2019 version. This also results in a power increase from 167 horsepower to 181 ponies for the drive. You’ll also have a dual mass flywheel and new muffler that offers a better exhaust note.

The engine isn’t the only place where we see changes to the Mazda MX-5 Miata to make it the car we want to drive and have a lot of fun. This car will now offer us a telescoping steering wheel for the first time, new exterior and interior options, and much more.
