The Honda Grom looks a little different for the 2025 model year than in previous years, but this well-loved sport bike remains mostly unchanged.
The small but mighty Grom continues to utilize a small 124 cc engine that makes enough power for smaller riders to have a great time on the bike. This little bike has streamlined design elements and a lightweight build to make it a fun and active Honda that many drives love to ride. It might not seem like the Grom needs any updating, but the team at Steady Garage specializes in mini-motors and creating customized versions of these small bikes, and they thought it could use something more.
The Grom is a fan favorite at Steady
The team at Steady Garage knows how to make a small and impressive bike like the Grom even more interesting and impressive. The team of Kevin Dunn, Jimmy Chen, Bahwee Suh, and Duy Nguyen love this little bike and found some great ways to give it some serious upgrades to make it look even more incredible and radical than it already does. Most might look at the Grom as a minibike, but the team at Steady looked at it as a sportbike and created a new look with that theme in mind.
This bike changes the rules
The Honda Grom rides on a set of 12-ich wheels, which makes it stand tall over these small rims. The goal was to bring the Grom to a similar style and build as the Honda sportbikes that are much bigger and more impressive. This meant changing it rom the small streetfighter style bike it is into something more incredible, while preserving its distinguishing features. To achieve their goal, the team at Steady began working with some of the top names in the mini-moto community to create something special.
The suspension and forks changed
With contacts working to upgrade the Grom, this bike received some cool stuff to make it look amazing. The team at Gears Racing added a hose of suspension improvements with overhauled front forks with aluminum tubes, black chrome stanchions, and an excellent cartridge kit for this bike. The rear shocks were adjusted with piggyback-style shocks that connect to an incredible aluminum swingarm from G-Craft.
In addition to these impressive upgrades, this little Honda received a beefier set of CNC-machined yokes and a steering stem from Sex Machine Racing out of Thailand. The stanchion brackets came from Nemoto parts. It seems like everybody who can, is getting in on the action of upgrading this Grom.
More new stuff
You might think the changes would end with the suspension items and some new bodywork, but that’s not the case. The team at Chimera Engineering added a host of impressive items as well. They gave this bike a set of new three-piece modular rims wrapped in Kenda tires. This team also supplied the hubs, wheel spacers, wheel axles, swingarm pivot axle, and rear sprocket carrier.
The braking for this specially made Honda Grom use new Anchor calipers bolted to Chimera caliper mounts. Added braking power comes from wave rotors and braided stainless steel lines from EBC, making it easier to stop this little power machine on the road or track.
Another place this little Honda bike received upgrades is in the powertrain, which receives some help from a DHM camshaft and high-performance ignition coil and wire set from Nology. The team at Steady upgraded the clutch with a new six-disk conversion and new springs from SMR. The SMR parts continue with a billet aluminum stator cover, while the ram air intake and cone air filter come from Chimera.
Steady Garage brought Detailed by Panem into the mix to help create the new carbon fiber bodywork. The parts were designed and tuned using 3D modeling software before the final parts were made.
The finishing touches
As you might expect on a custom bike, this specially made Honda Gro has a set of Vance and Hines exhaust pipes to make it sound amazing and bring the perfect finish to the bike. This special Grom is finished in teal blue paint, has yellow graphics, and a little carbon fiber showing through to give it an incredible look. Every part of this sporty little bike has been improved or altered in some manner.
It’s easy to see how many names came together to make a unique and special version of the Honda Grom, which came out of Steady Garage with a new look and much better ride for anyone who can get their hands on this mini motorcycle.
