The Tokyo Motor Show is underway and every brand present has come to the show with a variety of models to impress us but one, in particular, has stolen the show and brings us the style and technology that offers us the look and feel we want to enjoy. This new model is offered from a brand we know and love for what it can offer when we’re ready to have the drive we want. Unfortunately, this new car is simply a concept, at least for now, and it hasn’t been added to the production lineup yet.
The car that has stolen the show and offers us a design and a look that we want to admire is the new Lexus LS+ Concept. This car is one that you could describe as a large four-door sedan or a massive four-door coupe based upon how you want to consider this vehicle. What it brings for us to admire is something we’ve been expecting and looking forward to and enjoy on the road that will help us enter the future of the automotive market. This increased technology is the inclusion of autonomous driving features that we’ll want to enjoy as the industry moves forward.
What is the Autonomous Technology Included?
This new technology for the LS+ Concept is called Highway Teammate which is meant to start out by taking away the stress you might have when driving for a long period of time on the highways. This feature can use the GPS in the vehicle to know the route needed and make the lane changes, merge to ramps and adjust the speeds needed to follow the distance properly of other vehicles in the traffic faced. This is certainly going to aid in the longer driving time we may face when traveling for vacation or on weekends.
The expectation is that the Highway Teammate features will be offered as early as 2020 to give you the qualities desired. Another part of the features for this car that will be added in the future will be the Urban Teammate which will offer a similar function but offer it in the cities, which can be densely packed and difficult to navigate at times. This system will be offered later in the next decade as the team at Lexus continues to develop this technology and make it ready to be offered for the drive we want.
In addition to these two features of autonomous driving, the LS+ Concept features an embedded artificial intelligence that will be able to learn the roads and surroundings to be able to react and drive in the areas you travel the most. This will allow the car to become much smarter over time to make driving easier for you. This new car also shows us the impressive Lexus style that can be perfect for you if you admire what this brand has been able to create in the past. The technology and the style are what allowed the new LS+ Concept to steal the show in Tokyo.
