It was an unfortunate turn of events with the events of 2008 and how much they affected the automotive world. Many automakers and brands were put to pasture and some brands stayed away from short run niche markets for a few years focusing instead on the markets that were proven to make money for them. This of course included GM and the GMC brand which meant no more sport trucks for a period of time and a refocus on making the models that did survive better than ever.
Now, nearly a decade away from those tragic events, GM is treating us to a resurgence in the sport truck market with the GMC Sierra Elevation Edition. Upon first inspection you can see this new edition is totally blacked out, as the GMC mirror to the Midnight Edition of the Chevrolet Silverado. This gives the Sierra a sinister look of a misunderstood knight on his faithful steed ready to save the damsel from the dragon. Even the windows are heavily tinted for added effect and the truck rides on large 20-inch wheels and is guided by the HID headlights up front.
When you open the doors to this special edition truck there are several choices to be made to give it the appearance and feel you want. Standard features when you select the Elevation Edition include keyless entry, an LED cargo box, a large 4.2-inch LCD panel with OnStar and internet through the 4G LTE Wi-Fi. There is also a 110V outlet under the center screen panel and a fully LED lighted truck bed to make it easy to load and unload in the dark. These added features certainly make the Elevation Edition one that is seriously exciting to drive and gives you plenty of great features which you will certainly need and use.
As for the power, there will be two engine options to choose from for the Elevation Edition of the Sierra. The first is a 4.3-liter EcoTec3 V6 which shows up with 285 horsepower and 305 lb.-ft. of torque attached to a six-speed automatic transmission. For the power monster in you, the second engine is a 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 that gives a serious boost in power to 335 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque. The V6 is actually expected to reach a maximum speed of 125 mph and reach sixty mph in only eight seconds.
The pricing for this amazing version of the Sierra will start with the V6 at $34,865 and bring $34,960 for the V8. With this amazing design, the awesome power and some exceptional features inside, the Elevation Edition of the GMC Sierra shows itself as a new leader for GM in the sport truck market. This is certainly one truck that will make a fantastic choice for any truck lover and with the reasonable price many more can afford this truck than some of the models that come in at much higher prices. The only real question left to be answered is how much do you like the color black? Since this is the only color offered for this amazing truck it certainly is an important question to answer before you buy.
